I like to think of my work as both a personal and political tool, and I wield it as such. Speaking from my perspective as a woman born in Spain in the late 20th century, I extrapolate my own experience and thoughts to a broader context. By creating ironic representations of insurrection against gender, social class, and national or ethnic identity, I try to point out the cracks in our socio-economic system and reveal the tremendous injustice that underlies the current distribution of power.
