Maria Ruido

María Ruido is a producer, visual artist, researcher and educator. She currently lives in Madrid and Barcelona and is a lecturer with the Visual Arts Department of the University of Barcelona.

Since 1998, Ruido has been developing interdisciplinary projects related to the social construction of the body and identity, the imagery of labour in post-Fordist capitalism, and the construction of memory and its ties to narrative forms of history. More recently, she has begun to explore new forms of decolonial imagery and their emancipatory possibilities.
