Juan Ugalde

The most acute desolation, the most profound experience of the smallness and solitude of the human being, have always been plain to see in Ugalde’s work. Addressing themes like pollution, shantytown life and property speculation, in the course of his career Juan Ugalde has combined painting, photography, corrosive actions and installations to create a scathingly critical portrait of contemporary Spanish society, occasionally adding strokes of humour and irony.
