Iñaki Domingo
Iñaki Domingo (Madrid, 1978) is a visual artist whose work addresses issues of perception and matter related to image-creating processes from an abstract perspective.
His distinctions include the Injuve Photography Prize, the PHotoEspaña Revelation Award as a member of the NoPhoto collective, and the D&AD Award in Book Design for his book Ser Sangre. He received a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Social Services to participate in the Young Artist Residencies programme and was selected by the World Press Photo Foundation to participate in the prestigious Joop Swart Masterclass. Domingo’s work has been featured in solo and group shows at institutions round the world, including the Hubei Museum of Art, Lodz Art Center, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Fundación Lázaro Galdiano, Tabacalera Madrid and Matadero Madrid.
He was head of the editorial department at Ivorypress, where he also edited the magazine C Photo. He is currently co-editor of the blog 30y3.com and creative editor for the publishing house Editorial RM. He curated international exhibitions at Krakow Photomonth 2013 and PHotoEspaña 2014, and since 2014 he has been resident curator of the Lanzadera project at CentroCentro, Madrid.
Domingo is a senior lecturer at IED and Lens, where he teaches different aspects of photography and supervises MA theses. He also regularly gives workshops and lectures at different schools and universities. Additionally, he has served as a portfolio reviewer at FotoFest International Moscow and Discoveries PHotoEspaña, among other events, and has sat on the juries of contests like FotoPres La Caixa, Joven Talento FNAC and the Editorial RM Ibero-American Photobook Competitions.
